G A L A X Y

I watched this drawing as it was made, and it pretty much blew me out of the water. There's many things I love about it.

Body -
Really great figure, both body and hair. I especially love the legs, you gave them a lot of attention and definition. The face is also really well-done, with moe-moe proportions that touch the hearts of the mass multitude of females! My one wish here though is that the hands appear flat and the fingers crooked. They also appear to be rather small compared to the rest of the body, which leads me to my next point that I consider.

Proportions -
The flaws I see in it are few; the hands being one of the most prominent. Compared to the rest of the body, they appear very small (I know some girls have small hands, but there's something that doesn't sit right with them in this portrait). Additionally, the fingers appear somewhat crooked and don't stand out as natural fingers would in an outstretched pose like this one. The pose is a great choice for this piece, resembling power and a sense of godliness from hovering over an entire galaxy; it gives you a feeling of just how big she is compared to her environment. However, the pose also appears somewhat stiff from the waist up..I could understand if you wanted to give her the "ascension" type of feel, but if she looks like she's standing on the galaxy, her torso needs to compensate to give that point of balance. It looks like she's forcing the pose.

Color -
REALLY great choice of colors here. A cold blue for the majority but with the inside hair having a warm appearance, this gives off a feeling of self-control and containment. The stars added around her arms also give off the sense of power by giving off the idea that she's gathering them up.
Her outfit works really well; with the gold giving her a sense of power and royalty (?)...her hairstyle (hime-cut, go figure) further testifies to that. The flow of the hair also diverts the viewer's eyes from giving too much attention to the eyes or the surrounding stars/galaxy for too long. Overall the mix of blues, purples, and gold work up a great composition.

Overall if I had to rate this on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a conservative 7. The artwork is really well-done and the time invested into it was not ill-recieved. However, if it had to be re-drawn, I would suggest to check the proportions of the body very carefully and practice rendering the hands more to give it a more natural appearance. Again, the upper body gives off a slight contrast in detail/quality compared to the head and the legs. However, the choice of colors and the cuteness appeal the picture makes make up for most of the flaws that were detailed above.
